Aquarius is representative of the Grasshopper type and includes many of the features found on engines produced in the mid 1800's. Grasshoppers are characterised by their cranks being sited very close to the cylinder and the resultant action when in motion demonstrates the reason for the name Grasshopper being applied.
Aquarius is set upon a genuine brick foundation faced with quarry tiles, the main engine bedplate boasts two substantial main bearings carrying a crankshaft further supported by an outer pedestal bearing. Situated between these bearings the cast iron flywheel runs into a submerged race. Structural requirements dictate fluted columns supporting two girders tied into the cylinder sides. The girder arrangement providing anchorage for the links controlling the fluted radium arms and the pivot point for the evolutionary swinging look. Mounted across the girders and accessed by a period style ladder, the wooden planking provides an inspection floor. Passing through the floor is an ornate vertical link actuation the bedplate mounted working water pump. Further detail includes the geared governor taking its drive directly from the crank, fluted connecting rod, accessory drive pulley and cast brass name plate.
Available fully finished in Caladonian blue with contrasting detail Aquarius is an individually numbered and certified 'Premier Collection' model for your consideration.

Aquarius is generally built to order although, if your model is in stock at the time of ordering, where possible your order is dispatched the same or next working day. If your model is in production at the time of ordering, your payment card is not charged until your model is ready for dispatch. Customers placing an order that they require to be delivered on or before a certain date are advised to contact us directly.
UK orders are usually dispatched using Parcelforce's tracked, 'express 24 hour' service. This service makes delivery on business days only and for outlying or remote parts of the UK may take longer than 24 hours.
International orders may use Parcelforce's rapid Global Express, Euro Priority Business or Global Priority services. The initial stages of the checkout will calculate shipping to your country and select the most cost efficient shipping method we use before you commit to ordering a model. These services are some of the few on the market advertised as tracked and require signature / monitor delivery.
For both UK and International parcels, we have negotiated a significant, double-digit discount with our carrier and this is passed on to the customer. Customers considering ordering more than one model are advised to email us directly to gain where possible a combined shipping quotation since the website calculates costs on each model being shipped individually.
