Gas-Fired Boilers
The Heritage gas fired steam boilers have been carefully designed to ensure ease of operation and compatibility with our steam engines. The traditional marine type centre flue horizontal or the multi-tube vertical designs ensure reliable steam generation and in conjunction with the ceramic gas fired burners are both efficient and quiet in operation. Using quality materials the construction is silver soldered throughout, including a 16swg copper outer shell and bronze bushes; all steam boilers offer a maximum working pressure of 65psi.
Fittings include - Pressure gauge and siphon, Water gauge with "blow down", Steam take off union, Loco style safety valve and one spare "blanked" bush. The brass-topped chimney is detachable and may be specified with provision for an exhaust connection.
Mounted on substantial aluminium bases finished in gloss black enamel, the steam boilers are coated in a durable satin black heat resisting material.
Steam boilers may be supplied for operation directly from a disposable gas cartridge version "C" or alternatively complete with their own re-fillable (Surefill) gas tank piped to the burner and mounted on a hard wood plynth version "RF". For those requiring extended running times a further version designated "RFP" includes a hand pump, check valve and pipe work enabling the steam boiler to be replenished with water whilst in steam.
During manufacture all boilers are tested to twice working pressure and prior to dispatch under steam. A report specifying materials used and tests conducted together with comprehensive instructions is included with each unit.
Surefill is a Cotswold Heritage designed and manufactured system to enable the easy and reliable filling of the gas tank from a disposable cartridge.
