The fascination of steam transcends all ages and backgrounds, quite what actually derives so much pleasure from seeing an engine run varies, but of one fact we can be sure - it's great fun! So how do you make a start?

The traditional route to owning and running a model steam engine beyond those which may be classed as toys has in general required the acquisition of some engineering skills and use of machinery. Now as an option Cotswold Heritage offer engines in both machined kit and fully finished form. Whilst the kits eliminate the need for machinery and specialist skills they do offer a challenge and on completion result in working models compatible with the factory finished versions, either type able with additional products to run on steam or compressed air.
